About the Community site
Adult World Community is the human-side companion to our industry analysis — a safe-for-work, judgment-free resource about the people of the adult creator economy and the realities they navigate.
What this site covers
Two things, deliberately kept together: the parts of this work that are specific to the adult-content industry — stigma, payment-processor risk, content privacy — and the parts it shares with the wider creator economy, from platform dependence and algorithmic reach to burnout, parasocial fan relationships and the slow professionalisation of independent creator work. Treating both together is more honest than pretending this corner of the creator economy is either entirely unique or entirely ordinary.
Our stance
- People first: adult workers are people, entitled to dignity, safety, rights and the same services as anyone — that premise runs through every page;
- Honest, not preachy: neither glamorising nor doom-mongering — the realistic middle that actually helps;
- Deferential to workers: the real experts are the people doing the work and their advocacy communities — we point toward them, not over them;
- Safe for work and non-explicit — this is about careers, safety, wellbeing, business and rights, not content.
How the site is organised
Broadly: the work itself (reality, the creator economy, considering it, running the business, professionalizing, transitions); community and fans (community, fans, healthy communities, platform risk); and wellbeing and rights (safety, mental health, burnout, rights, stigma). The FAQ is the fast route to a specific answer.
Who this is for
Creators themselves, at any stage — considering it, already doing it, or thinking about what comes next. People who support someone in this work and want to understand it better. And anyone approaching the subject from outside — researchers, journalists, or the simply curious — who wants an honest account rather than either a sales pitch or a moral panic.
